- Please note that you should NOT set goals for the next performance year. Instead, all goals reviewed and added should be related to the current performance review period (April 1 to March 31). There will be a separate process in Workday to set your annual goals for the next performance cycle.
- Goals are performance standards that link your job to the attainment of the department's, the college/division's and the university's goals. When adding or modifying a goal, please remember to write SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, timebound) goals. SMART goals focus on the result and process of achieving a goal rather than the task itself.
- Remove goal: To align with changing organizational needs, a goal may be removed in consultation with your supervisor (caution: this deletes the goal permanently).

Troubleshooting Errors

If any goals were added to the self-evaluation with an end date outside of the Performance Review period for the current review period (e.g., April 1–March 31), a warning validation will display for you to review. At this point, you will be prompted to revisit the self-evaluation by clicking the Open button.
- Click the "Goals" section to review the end date, which is after 3/31. If this goal pertains to this review period, you may submit the review.
- If the goal is not for this review period, please remove the goal and then navigate to the "Review and Submit" section to submit the evaluation to your supervisor for review.
- The details of the submission are displayed. Select the arrow to the left of Details and Process to expand the view of the overall details about the evaluation, as well as the process history.
- Click Done to return to your Inbox.
