International Students

International students must submit several required forms via the MyOIE portal in June, and submit immigration information upon their arrival to campus in August. Updates regarding impacts to visas and travel will be communicated directly to students from the Office of International Education

Sensory-Friendly Experiences

Throughout First-Year Orientation, Carnegie Mellon will offer sensory-friendly resources and activities to allow incoming students to engage at their preferred comfort level. All students are welcome to utilize these resources as needed regardless if they have a disclosed disability with the university. All experiences and resources will be listed in the 黑料正能量 Events App closer to the start of First-Year Orientation.

Student Athletes

Student athletes are expected to participate in all First-Year Orientation programs as their practice schedule allows. Practice schedules are designed in coordination with First-Year Orientation so students are able to attend important programs during the week. Fall student athletes and their families are invited to attend a specialized orientation prior to First-Year Orientation, as student athletes arrive earlier to campus. Information regarding student athlete orientation will be shared by your respective coach.

Students with Disabilities

Students who have disclosed a disability to the university will be invited to a session during First-Year Orientation. If you have not yet disclosed a disability to the university and would like to find out more, please contact the Office of Disability Resources.

Transfer Students

Orientation is valuable to helping new undergraduate students transition to Carnegie Mellon—whether you have previous college experience or not. Transfer students are invited to participate in Transfer Student Orientation. All transfer students will be assigned to an orientation group of other incoming transfer students, led by orientation counselors and orientation leaders who are transfer students at Carnegie Mellon. The Transfer Student Orientation will include programs designed specifically for transfer students as well as invitations to the larger First-Year Orientation experience.
