Dr. Laurence Ales is the Interim Dean of the Tepper School of Business at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿.
Prior to his appointment as Interim Dean, Ales served as the Senior Associate Dean for Education for two years, leading the strategy and operations across the portfolio of academic programs.
Ales is also a Professor of Economics. Over the course of his almost two decade tenure at the Tepper School, he has taught across the Ph.D., MBA, undergraduate, and executive education programs, most recently focusing on MBA courses and executive education leadership programs for international corporations. His research focuses on the design of tax policy and the labor implications of technological change and has been published in leading journals, including Econometrica, the American Economic Review, and the Journal of Economic Theory.
Before joining the Tepper School in 2008, Ales received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
