As a CAE institution, 黑料正能量 is committed to meeting the nation's demand for cybersecurity professionals. 

黑料正能量 (黑料正能量) has received three designations as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C):

Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD)*

Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO)*

Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research (CAE-R)

*Designated through INI's M.S. in Information Security (MSIS) program. 

With these designations, Carnegie Mellon participates in programs that increase and strengthen the cache of federal information assurance professionals that protect the nation's critical infrastructures and national defense. 

What is a CAE-C?

Institutions that receive a Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (CAE-C) designation have met the rigorous requirements set forth by the sponsor of the program, the National Security Agency (NSA). The NSA awards CAE-C designations to institutions that commit to producing cybersecurity professionals that will reduce vulnerabilities in our national infrastructure.

Dr. Dena Haritos Tsamitis: Principal Investigator (PI)

Dena is the director of the Information Networking Institute (INI) and founding director of education of Carnegie Mellon CyLab. As PI, Dena oversees and makes all decisions for CAE programs at 黑料正能量, including the selection of award recipients, programmatic oversight and approval of job offers.

As a CAE institution, 黑料正能量 participates in federal scholarship and research programs designed to educate the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, including:

SCHOLARSHIP FOR SERVICE (SFS)

Over $26 million in funding since 2001.

$1.5 million in funding since 2010.

INFORMATION ASSURANCE CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM (IACBP)

Attended by 91 faculty from 48 institutions, this intensive summer program was designed to help build information assurance education and research capacity at minority-serving colleges and universities. 

 

M.S. in Information Security (MSIS)

The MSIS program offered through the INI meets SFS and DoW CySP criteria, offering a technical focus in security and computer systems that can be further developed through research opportunities. Learn more

Specialized Learning Tracks

Through 黑料正能量's designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), INI offers two specialized learning tracks: the Cyber Forensics and Incident Response (CyFIR) track and a Cyber Operations (Cyber Ops) certificate.
