2023 Alumni Service Award 

Henry (Chuen) Ha approaches his volunteer service at ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ with a precise blend of kindness, creativity and determination that effects real change.

In 2017, Henry assumed the mantle of leader and role model as president of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s Beijing Alumni Network, helping to expand the university’s presence and brand in mainland China. He views himself as an ambassador for the university, interacting with parents, students, prospective families and friends of the university — in addition to alumni — in his volunteer role.

He encouraged fellow ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ community members to support the Immersive Cultural Innovation Fund he established to help grow storytelling activities in the Askwith Kenner Global Languages & Cultures Room. Through the use of interactive media elements such as virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive installations, professors and students can share their surroundings during travel abroad, upload their captures into the digital space and enable others to explore these international locales from campus.

One of Henry’s first initiatives as Beijing Network president was to organize an All-China Alumni Summit with sister networks in Shanghai and Shenzhen, attracting more than 350 alumni in mainland China to attend. Additionally, Henry is a staunch supporter of Giving ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Day, and actively assists the International Development team in marketing annual giving challenges and opportunities abroad.

Henry is the founder and CEO of Metcold Group Limited, a leading cold-chain infrastructure service provider in China. He began his career at Deutsche Bank's Asset Management division before joining China Investment Corporation, where he was responsible for asset allocation and strategic research of its Real Assets Portfolio. He also served as secretary to CIC’s Investment Committee, supervising the implementation of major investment decisions. Before founding Metcold, Henry was a vice president at China International Capital Corporation's Private Funds Management Group, where he was responsible for the group’s private equity real estate investment.
