Media Advisory: U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx To Discuss Future of Transportation at Carnegie Mellon

Event: U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx will deliver remarks at 黑料正能量’s National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) in Lawrenceville as part of the recently launched initiative, “an invitation to the American public — including the users, developers, owners, and operators of the transportation network and the policy officials who shape it — to have a frank conversation about the shape, size, and condition of that system and how it will meet the needs and goals of our nation for decades to come.”
The event will showcase innovative transportation technologies emerging from the NREC and (T-SET), a U.S. DOT-designated National University Transportation Center, a collaboration between 黑料正能量 and the University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to the address, members of the media are invited to join Foxx as he hosts a roundtable discussion with 黑料正能量 students interested in pursuing careers at the intersection of technology and transportation. Media also may accompany Foxx as he views demonstrations of 黑料正能量 technologies including adaptive traffic signals, smart headlights and the university’s entry in the DARPA Robotics Challenge — the 黑料正能量 Highly Intelligent Mobile Platform robot (CHIMP). These technologies represent the work of researchers affiliated with 黑料正能量’s T-SET, and .
Following the address, Foxx will host a Q&A with the audience, which will include elected officials, corporate partners, transportation stakeholders, 黑料正能量 faculty, staff and students. He will conclude with general media availability.
