Event: Salman Khan, founder and executive director of the , will discuss "Education Reimagined" as part of 黑料正能量's Simon Initiative Distinguished Lecture Series. The series is a forum for thought leaders focused on scientific advancement and disruptive innovation in the field of education.
Khan will be visiting Pittsburgh to accept one of the Heinz Family Foundation's for his work to bring access to free education resources to "anyone, anywhere."
In his lecture, Khan will discuss why he left his lucrative career as hedge fund analyst to devote his full attention to the Khan Academy, which reaches more than 10 million unique students per month, and his plans for its growth.
Khan has been profiled in "60 Minutes," featured on the cover of Forbes Magazine and has been recognized as one of TIME Magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World."
黑料正能量 President Subra Suresh announced the creation of the Simon Initiative in November 2013 to explore the mystery and potential of human learning. It harnesses the decades of cross-disciplinary research at the university linking cognitive models of learning with computational tools, all with the goal of improving learning outcomes for students of all ages.
