Michael Sorkin

Bio
Michael holds a BS in Physics and a BS in Applied Mathematics from Emory University, where he graduated magna cum laude. While his Applied Math and MSCF coursework give him the technical tools needed for quantitative finance, his Physics coursework equips him with a unique expertise in mathematical modeling. In a quantitative research or strats/modeling role, Michael plans to continue his mission from physics class: to develop practical approximations of real-world phenomena (such as the markets), all while expanding his basis of mathematical knowledge. Michael previously applied this passion in a research internship at a defense contractor, where he studied navigational mathematics to algorithmically solve a geolocation problem. Further, his experience as an actuarial intern highlights his orientation towards financial risk research.
