Launch of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s 2026 United Way Campaign

Home / Leadership / The President / Messages From The President / Launch of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s 2026 United Way Campaign

Dear Faculty and Staff:

Every year, ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ partners with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania to make a meaningful difference in our region and strategically cultivate a more vibrant, engaged and impactful community.

Last year, Carnegie Mellon recorded our second-highest giving total on record — raising $145,000 to help United Way agencies provide vital emergency assistance, support family economic stability, position children for success and so much more. As we launch this year’s campaign, we are looking to once again showcase the power of our community and set a new benchmark for giving.

I invite each of you to consider joining ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s 2026 United Way Campaign, which runs from Feb. 16 to March 27. To participate and learn more, visit ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s United Way webpage. There, you can:

  • Contribute through a one-time gift.
  • Establish a recurring payroll deduction.
  • Explore a variety of campaign events.
  • Read stories of how our fellow Tartans are making a difference through their involvement with the United Way.

I am grateful for the efforts of our campaign committee — co-chaired by our Provost and Chief Academic Officer Jim Garrett and Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer Angela Blanton — as well as the contributions of champions across the university.

I look forward to seeing the collective strength of our Tartan community in action once again and ask that you consider joining me in supporting ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s 2026 United Way campaign today.

Sincerely,

Farnam Jahanian
President
