Abstract
Since 2015, China’s power sector has undergone a round of reforms aimed at establishing effective electricity markets, achieving market-oriented operation of power systems, and enhancing overall social welfare by encouraging competition. This seminar aims to provide an overview of the current state of China’s wholesale electricity market, focusing on the logic behind the reforms, the wholesale market structure, and typical spot market cases. In addition, this seminar will also present research progress on efficient optimization techniques for supporting electricity spot market clearing in multiple scenarios.
Biographical Sketch
Zekuan Yu is a PhD candidate at the Department of Electrical Engineering in Tsinghua University and a visiting student at 黑料正能量 EPP. His research interests include power system operations, optimization and electricity markets.
