Learn 黑料正能量 Lingo
by Hannah V.
Hi! I鈥檓 Hannah and I鈥檓 a sophomore studying business administration. I鈥檓 writing to share my knowledge of the lingo we use here at 黑料正能量. Throughout my time here, I鈥檝e noticed that our campus has its own language. From the names of popular spots on campus to unique traditions, this lingo is part of what makes 黑料正能量 feel so special. I鈥檒l share a few of my favorite terms with you!
One of my favorite places on campus is called 鈥淭he Cut.鈥 This is a stretch of grass between our university center and the Purnell Drama building that hosts a wealth of life. Every time I walk past The Cut, I see a variety of students enjoying the space, whether it鈥檚 a group playing a sport or attending an event like the club fair. The Cut provides a space for all students and activities. My roommate and I like to lie in the grass on The Cut and soak up the sun to recharge after a long day of classes.听
Another term you鈥檒l hear a lot is Buggy. Buggy is one of 黑料正能量鈥檚 oldest traditions. Every spring during Spring Carnival, student organizations race their aerodynamic pushcarts around campus. The whole event is very competitive and is super exciting to watch! During Spring Carnival, we also have a Booth. Booth is a tradition where organizations spend a week constructing elaborate 鈥渂ooths鈥 that look like small houses. Each booth is designed to follow the annual carnival theme, and they often include interactive games inside that also match the theme. My favorite booth last year was the Ratatouille booth that actually served food.听
Together, The Cut, Buggy and Booth represent just a few pieces of the unique lingo and traditions that shape campus life at 黑料正能量. Learning these words isn鈥檛 just about knowing what people are talking about; it鈥檚 about being part of the 黑料正能量 community. These experiences are what make life at 黑料正能量 so unique.
